We are seeking an energetic, compassionate and resilient Live-in Carer to join our Supported Independent Living accommodation services in Lange, Albany.

We're looking for a people-person, someone the people we support can trust, someone who has their best interests at heart and someone who can balance the needs of our customers with the organisational requirements of Policy, Documentation and Reporting. Our Live-in Carers are a great example of employees who thrive on responsibility, communicate clearly, are calm in a crisis and are flexible in their responses.

While no one day is the same, you will be responsible for all household functions including cleaning, washing, meal preparation, transporting to and from the community and engaging our customers in various social activities. 

This role includes sleep over shifts.

Make It Matter - What you will bring to make a difference in other's lives

  • Help customers to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
  • Create a comfortable and safe home environment with a consistent routine to help maintain their independence as much as possible
  • Assist with and help to build independent life skills such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Meal planning, cooking and cleaning
  • Maintain a high standard of documentation 
  • Transport our customers to and from appointments
  • Provide personal care such as showering, toileting and dressing where required.
  • Administer medication.

 To be considered for these opportunities, you will need the following;

  • Thorough experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience working in a therapeutic environment
  • Possess a high standard of reporting and documentation
  • Have a positive attitude which accompanies your resilience and commitment
  • Be calm and resilient 
  • Willing to work a week-on week-off style live-in roster (including sleep over shifts)
  • Relevant diploma qualification minimum, or extensive experience
  • A current first-aid certificate
  • A Current Driver’s License
  •  

Desirable, not essential for the role

  • Previous experience as a Live-in Carer
  • Obtained a relevant qualification 
  •
