The Role:

The Lead Clinician will lead innovation and best practices across Child and Family (CFS) National Clinical team through the provision of evidence based, trauma informed assessments, interventions and supports that are underpinned by the CALM and TCI models and the principles of positive behaviour support.

An exciting and challenging role exists for a Clinical Team Lead to join our national Clinical Services team. The Lead Clinician will lead innovation and best practices across Child and Family (CFS) National Clinical team through the provision of evidence based, trauma informed assessments, interventions and supports that are underpinned by the CALM and TCI models and the principles of positive behaviour support.

The Lead Clinician works within the National Practice and Clinical Team. The team is collectively responsible for promoting and developing service and practice excellence through staff consultation, support and training and the delivery of high-quality clinical services to children and young people.

About the Job

  • Renumeration $133,000 with $12,000 vehicle allowance.
  • Oversee a state-wide team of 16 clinical staff across a variety of programs.

  • Provide high-quality trauma-informed assessments, based around the CALM model, TCI, and other best practises in BSP development and implementation of interventions, therapeutic supports, plans implementation, training, data collection, reviews, and practice leadership.

About you

  • Extensive experience delivering and providing clinical supervision to clinicians and behaviour support practitioners
  • Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience of application of evidence-based practice ideologies and frameworks, and capacity to develop frameworks, systems and tools that reflect them
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practice within the child protection field, understanding of clinical trends, and current knowledge of child protection legislation underpinning the provision of services to children living in out of care nationally
  • Attention to detail and leading accuracy in the record management and compliance requirements of Child and Family Clinical 
  • Flexibility to work in with team availability, develop, deliver and attend training or meetings as required
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development activities
  • Practice within your professional disciplinary scope and code of conduct
  • Modelling the organisation values and ensuring all workplace conduct aligns with the Code of Conduct and values
  • Required to identify, assess, eliminate/control and monitor high risk service delivery incidents in a proactive and preventative manner

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and ensure education and training compliance and upskilling around data collection and batteries of assessments and tools that inform BSP development.
  • Support and ensure compliance for Child and Family Clinical with internal and external compliance and legislative requirements
  • Lead Child and Family compliance with strategic plans, contractual requirements and key performance indicators
  • Expect and inspect Child and Family Clinical maintains documentation in accordance with relevant legislation requirements and Lifestyle Solutions policies and procedures, including but not limited to, case notes, assessments, behaviour data, and reports pertaining to the progress of people we support as well as records of Reflective Practice’s held
  • Produce reports, briefings and contribute to tender development as required
  • Participate in relevant interagency and partnership opportunities
  • Ensure an understanding, implementation and adherence with Lifestyle Solutions Policy, Procedures, Frameworks and guidelines in day-to-day Child and Family clinical service’s including submission of Restrictive Practice Applications and Positive Behaviour Support Plan reviews
  • Deliver clinical services collaboratively with direct care teams
